Free toolsBacklink Checker

Free Backlink Checker

Check backlinks for any domain. See the websites that link to it, each scored for Link Authority, PageRank and Harmonic strength, then filter, sort and compare with your competitors.

Domain to check

Free, no sign-up. Enter your own domain or a competitor’s.

What the backlink checker shows

A backlink search returns the websites that link to a domain, with three scores from 1 to 100 for how much each one is worth.

your domain

Each circle is a website linking to the domain in the middle. Bigger circles are stronger websites.

Referring domains

Every website we found linking to the domain, counted once per website, so ten links from one site count as one referring domain.

Link Authority

How strong a website is, based on how many other websites link to it. Higher is better.

PageRank score

How trusted a website is, based on the strength of the websites linking to it. Higher is better.

Harmonic score

How well connected a website is to the rest of the web. Higher is better.

How to check backlinks

1. Enter a domain

Type a domain such as example.com: your own website, or a competitor’s to see where their links come from.

2. Run the check

Press Find backlinks to see every website that links to the domain, with its three scores.

3. Filter and sort

Filter by TLD, such as .com, .edu or .gov, and sort any column, such as Link Authority, to bring the strongest websites to the top.

What to do with your backlink results

Find your competitors’ link sources

Check a competitor’s domain and list the websites linking to them but not to you. Those are your outreach targets.

Spot weak referring domains

Sort by score to find low-strength or unrelated websites linking to you, and decide whether they need attention.

Plan guest posts and outreach

Pick strong, relevant websites from the list and plan guest posts, mentions or digital PR around them.

Track your link growth

Check again after a campaign to see which new websites link to you and how strong they are.

Good to know before you check

Honest limits, so you read the results the right way.

Websites, not pages

Results show the website that links to you, not the exact page or the anchor text of each link.

Our own scores

Link Authority, PageRank and Harmonic scores are AskSEO’s own measures from 1 to 100. They are not Moz Domain Authority or Ahrefs Domain Rating.

Backlink checker: questions

Is this backlink checker free?

Yes. You can check backlinks for any domain without signing up.

How do I check backlinks for a website?

Enter the domain, for example example.com, and press Find backlinks. You get the websites that link to it, with a score for each one.

Can I check a competitor’s backlinks?

Yes. Enter any domain. Checking competitors shows which websites link to them, which is the quickest way to find link building targets.

Is Link Authority the same as Domain Authority?

No. Link Authority is AskSEO’s own score of how strong a website is, from 1 to 100. Domain Authority is a Moz metric, and the two are calculated differently.

Why can’t I see the exact page that links to me?

This checker works at the website level: it shows each referring domain, not the individual page or anchor text.

Why is there a security check?

A quick check keeps the free tool fast and available for everyone. It may appear when you search, never when you open the page.
